Faculty of aircraft engines and powerplants

The faculty is one of the two oldest ones of the University and it exists since 1930. Thousands of highly experienced specialists have been trained at the faculty during the period of its existence, many of them became General and Chief designers, leaders of the largest firms, design bureaus, scientific institutions of Ukraine, Russia and other CIS countries.



At present time the faculty includes 7 departments: department of aircraft engines, department of aerospace thermal engineering, department of gas-turbine engines and plants, department of aicraft engine manufacturing, department of theoretical mechanics, department of structural materials processing.

The faculty is a basic one at the University and it turns out the engineers on the following specialties:

Aviation engines and power plants;
Aircraft engines manufacturing;
Aerospace thermal engineering;
Gas-turbine plants and compressor stations;
Information design technologies;
Robotic system and complexes.

The faculty academic labs are equipped with a unique facilities: a bench of full-scale turbojet, benches of aircraft engine diagnostics, natural pattern of gas-turbine and piston aircraft engines. The educational-methodological and research activity of the faculty is closely connected with the leading Ukrainian enterprises . The affiliate of the faculty was founded at one of the largest aircraft engine-design "Motor - Sich" Joint-Stock Company. It is headed by the Director General, Professor Boguslaev V.A.
