The
first specialists in space-rocket engineering had graduated from
the Kharkov Aviation Institute since 1944 and in September, 1980
the specialized faculty was organized. The graduates of kharkiv
Aviation Institute took part in creation of rocket carriers, rocket
weapon, and space objects from the first Earth artificial satellite
up to the manned space stations. The specialties, the graduates
of which allow Ukraine to make space objects, to carry out their
launch both independently and under the programs of international
commonwealth are studying at the space-rocket engineering faculty
now.
There
are eight departments at the faculty. Seven of them are located
at the University. They are: department of rocket vehicles engines,
department of space vehicles power plants, department of space-rocket
vehicles design, department of habitability safety, higher mathematics
department, graphic and computer modeling department , department
of aircraft materials technology. One more new engineering department
is located at GDB "Yuzhnoye" in Dnepropetrovsk city.
The training of the graduates is carried out on
the following specialties:
Space-rocket flying machines designing and
manufacturing; Space-rocket flying machines
engines; Space flying machines power
plants; Non-conventional (solar and
thermal) power sources; Designing and manufacturing
articles made of composite materials; Information design technologies;
